This has ushered in a new era in the politics of the nation as we hope for the first time to have a female Deputy President. “History is calling us to close the gender gap in our country,” said Rt. Hon Odinga as he announced Hon. Karua’s appointment as his deputy on Monday 16th May 2022. She said she was “deeply honored” and thanked the “faceless team of dreamers” who had supported her.
